Ben Sansom is a web developer who has been programming for years. Based between the towns of Frome, Trowbridge, Bradford on Avon and Westbury , he is mostly working with small businesses and organisations who need a website. Often though, it is more than a website that is delivered. To the public, a website is what they will see. To the customer, there could be a backend database system to manage content, customers, jobs, invoices etc. Please see the recent work section for more details of some of the systems developed.
Miranda Sykes, the acclaimed singer and bassist with ‘Show of Hands’ is returning to her roots. After a career spanning over 20 years, during which time she has played with many of the top musicians and singers within the folk world, she will be touring as she started out: one woman, one bass, and one guitar
Roots on the Road is a project inspired by working with Miranda Sykes. A niche site for roots, folk and acoustic music showing gigs on a map so fans can see when artists are playing near them. Just tap in your postcode and see who is playing near you. You can join the site and receive alerts when new gigs are announced.
New artists are being added all the time - being suggested by the public and requested by the artists themselves.
Now with over 200 artists
Bill (Belinda) with her lively style and fresh, unpretentious approach, launched herself onto the UK folk scene in 1998, delighting both die hard devotees of acoustic music and newcomers to the genre. In February 2001, less than a year after releasing her debut album Turn to Me, Bill won the Horizon (Best Newcomer) Award at the BBC Folk Awards.
Bill's site is a complete content management site where Bill can edit all details and upload photos - basically control everything!
A former professional aerialist, Catrin's classes incorporate her love of movement and music, yoga philosophy and instinctive teaching style.
She teaches regularly at Yogahome in Stoke Newington, Total Chi Yoga Bar on Baker Street, at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and with teenagers in Hackney schools.
In the space of a few short years, Miranda Sykes & Rex Preston have emerged to become one of the most sought after duos on the English folk & roots scene. The striking combination of the flame headed double bass player & virtuoso mandolin player create music that Folk Roots say is: 'A musical partnership made in heaven. Scintillating, sensitive and brilliant!'
Using design ideas by Elly Lucas, Miranda and Rex's ever growing gig feed is pulled in automatically providing an up to date schedule. Their popular mailing list and Twitter feed is also fully incorporated.
The virbrant town of Frome's own Ukulele Club: The Frukes play classic tunes in their own inimitable way.
This band has become so popular in the town, more and more people keep joining! The band needed a site to inform the local community when they will next be playing. As the number of gigs increased, also did the management of making sure enough players were able to attend - players didn't wanted to manage - they wanted to play their Ukes! The website allows members to sign up to gigs, with email alerts when new gigs are entered. The site also hosts the vast selection of music that this energetic band play.
